Canada: $1 175th Anniversary Of The Frontenac 1991

Design: This dollar commemorates the 175th anniversary of the first steamship to sail on the Great Lakes. Built by a partnership of Kingston merchants in 1816, the Frontenac established a regular passenger and freight route beetwen Prescott and Burlington by 1817, thus becoming the first Canadian steamship to operate on Lake Ontario

Composition: 50% Ag, 50% Cu (0.375 oz actual silver weight)
