Munich mint. Variety with date divided by city view. An issue struck to commemorate the completion of new fortifications around Munich, built while the Thirty-Years War raged across Central Europe. Detail has been struck up, including the Elector's armour and facial features as well as the intricate cityscape, dominated by the iconic onion domes of the Frauenkirche. Although mintage numbers cannot be verified, auction records suggest that this is the scarcer of the two varieties.
